Benjamin Garcia Saxe participated in the Latin American Forum of Architecture Students in 2013 where it was sought to generate dialogue among the students of Architecture of all Latin America.

Architecture currently faces the challenge of the complexity of the process that daily transform our context, and Latin America is a great example of this.

The idea of the emergent architecture, part of its own name, of the emergency; It is an architecture that seeks to understand the reality of contemporary societies, which makes use of technology, knowledge, research and cooperation to achieve as Camilo Restrepo says; “Interconnecting different situations transforming reality”, thus adapting to the conditions of the context, operate anywhere and propose an innovative, flexible architecture that goes well beyond the classic vision of “shaping the void,” an architecture that manages , Manages and produces really functional spaces that give rise to new processes of social and cultural transformation.

‍Emerging Architecture?

Throughout history Latin American countries have been classified as emerging or developing countries, for this reason we propose the term Emerging Architecture. At present, our countries are beginning to be the main protagonists of contemporary architecture. The Latin American context faces the challenge of the complexity of the processes that daily transform our context, and Latin America is a great example of this. The practice of the profession in any Latin American metropolis implies great challenges that crystallize in phenomena such as the favelas or the invasion of the ecological structures of the cities; These examples and many more leave the door open to an architecture extremely sensitive to the place and the human being.
