Framing dramatic volcano views, this centre for the SERES Foundation in Guatemala expands their operations and supports their aims to empower the young people of the country. The waving roof that characterises the design is inspired by the surrounding topography and opens up onto an internal garden.
In these inside/outside spaces tutors can work with children, with the amazing volcanic backdrop ever present. Studio Saxe believes that design plays an active role in shaping interactions between people and improves the quality of their everyday experiences. Harnessing geometry, light and natural environments we can create better places to support the work of organisations such as SERES that strive to improve lives.
